| Laser Gum Treatment is a form of laser assisted periodontal soft tissue treatment. As an adjunct to elimination of tartar and under-the-gum debris, the laser procedure assists in the removal of inflamed and diseased gum tissue lining the periodontal pocket thus allowing the gum to reattach to the tooth at the proper level. | |
|
The laser also vaporizes bacterial tissue toxins and weakens sub-gingival
calculus so that it can be easily removed. Studies on laser assisted
soft tissue curettage indicate a significant reduction in pocket size
up to 42% due to use of the laser. |

Laser treatment is especially suited for gum disease. The small size and flexibility of the fiber optic delivery system provides for easy access to the pocket. Pocket reduction has been consistently recorded in the range of 40%, many times with bone growth and higher attachment with repetitive treatment. Laser treatment also results in less bleeding, less post-op pain and discomfort and less trauma. Since we have added laser treatment to our Non-Surgical Gum Treatment, we have been able to help many more people keep their teeth without painful gum surgery. |
